- Get students to the topic through a picture describing activities. Ask Ss questions about the illustration: 1. Where are the students in the picture?
2. What are they doing?
3. What do they use these devices for?
- Encourage Ss to talk about the use of some mobile devices and the Internet. Introduce. Ss’ background knowledge them the types of the mass media in their discussion. Elicit more ideas from and introduce the new lesson.
Answer the questions:
They are probably in a coffee shop.
The people are using their mobile devices.
They are probably talking to friends, getting access to the Internet, reading online newspaper
B. KNOWLEDGE FORMATION ACTIVITIES (10 ms)
Activity 1. Tells Ss that are going to listen to a conversation between two friends: Lan and Nam about the use of mobile devices and the Internet. (10 ms)

- Tell Ss that that are going to listen to a conversation between two friends: Lan and Nam about the use of mobile devices and the Internet. Let Ss predict what will be mentioned in their conversation, encourage and accept all types of predictions from Ss. Play the recording. Ask Ss to listen and read the conversation at the same time.
- Work in pairs to check if their predictions are true or false
- Listen and give some information related to the lesson.

Activity 1. Giving short answers to the questions. (7 ms)

+ To help Ss get familiar with ways of pronouncing verbs ending –ed;
+ To help Ss use prepositions after certain verbs;
+ To have Ssknow how to use and distinguish between the past simple & the past perfect.

- Attitude: To raise Ss’ awareness of the importance of the mass media in our life
2. Orientation towards students’ competency development: By the end of the lesson, Ss can
- use some key words and phrases related to the mass media;

Hello everyone. I would like talk about how my friend use the mass media. Her name is Thu. She uses Facebook and Twitter. She likes and subscribes to some English sharing pages to update her English knowledge every day. She often uses the Internet on her phone. She thinks it is an easy and convenient way to contact her friends and search for information on the Internet
Five years ago, She sets up a blog about make-up. She posted lots of sharing in English on ways to put on natural make-up, some organic sources of cosmetics and ways to care for face skin or the whole body's skin. Now She doesn’t have much time to update information on her blog and read others' blogs. She thinks blogging is a good way to improve English writing and sharing information
 She has never used any online gambling sites so She doesn't know how they work.
